Premier League – Next Manager sacked betting odds: Who will be next to leave?

TOTTENHAM manager Ange Postecoglou is favourite for the sack.

That’s according to bookmakers talkSPORT BET, who’ve updated their managerial betting markets following Spurs’ defeat to struggling Leicester City on Sunday.

There have been a total of six Premier League managers relieved of their duties in the 2024/25 campaign.

Manchester United’s Erik ten Hag was the first casualty back in October, followed by Leicester’s Steve Cooper less than a month later.

Wolves’ Gary O’Neil and Southampton’s Russell Martin were both axed on December 15th before Julen Lopetegui was dismissed at the London Stadium after just six months in charge.

Sean Dyche is the latest top-flight boss to have been sacked after a difficult period in charge of Everton.

This season has already seen double the overhaul than the entirety of the 2023/24 campaign where only three Premier League managers were sacked – Paul Heckingbottom (Sheffield United), Steve Cooper (Nottingham Forest) and Roy Hodgson (Crystal Palace).

But there could be more changes on the horizon in such a competitive season, and talkSPORT BET think Postecoglou is the most likely to be sent packing at odds-on 2/5.

Postecoglou’s position hanging by a thread following Sunday’s embarrassing defeat to Leicester.

The Foxes, who were on a run of seven successive defeats, produced a stunning comeback to claim three points and climb out of the relegation zone.

It consigned Spurs to their fourth consecutive Premier League defeat, and means Postecoglou’s side have won just one of their past 11 league matches – collecting five points from the past 33 available.

Tottenham sit 15th in the table with 24 points, eight above the relegation zone and 17 behind the Champions League qualification places.

Supporters made their anger known with boos and jeers at the full-time whistle, along with chants aimed at chairman Daniel Levy throughout the encounter.

The loss intensified the pressure on Postecoglou, who is pinning his hopes on the return of key men like Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven.

But when asked if he believed he would still be in a job by then, the Aussie replied: “Who knows.

“I reckon there is probably a fair chunk that will say no. When you are the manager of a football club you can be very vulnerable and isolated. I don’t feel that.

“I feel like this group of players are giving everything for the club. I have a group of staff that is really committed. I focus on that.”
