Over the 4th of July weekend I got caught in a massive rainstorm during a hike. I was quite relieved after making it out of the woods that my phone still worked (yes, I was that soaked) but upon getting back to the cabin I realized that I could no longer charge the device through the lightning port.
Fortunately I was leaving the next day and my car has built-in wireless charging so I figured I was set! Unfortunately the wireless charging capability built into my vehicle couldn’t charge the phone enough to come back from the dead so I had a 2.5 hour car ride with no audio and no phone.
After getting home I ordered one of these and my phone charges quickly and reliably. I am even able to charge my phone in my car now because it has a USB-C port that I can plug the Magsafe charger into.
Obviously I will be getting a new phone when the 16’s come out so I have a working charging port but this will most definitely keep things working until that is released in October.

Can’t yet speak of longevity but it works great! I bought TWO others with lots of stars first. One did not work at all. The second worked 3 days. I have had a stroke so plugging in and removing made me nervous that I would break the phone or charger or both. Only problem is cord is too short!! Really short! So I knocked off a star. Now I, regretfully, have a too long extender, oh well.

After dealing with an ever growing collection of cables I finally broke down and ordered this Apple MagSafe charger. We have an end table between two recliners which makes it the perfect place to locate this little beauty. Convenient for both my wife and I to charge our phones while we watch some tv or read. It also works like a charm to charge my AirPods that came in a MagSafe case. The convenience is great, my cable clutter is reduced and the quality is what you would expect from an Apple accessory. It’s one of those things you ask yourself…why didn’t I get this sooner?
