Screen has no damage from me. Never been dropped, never been in bathroom while showering, correct charging blocks and cords (Amazon sent the WRONG kind to use- check to make sure if you purchase). I have to constantly turn off my screen and on again for it to read my touch on the screen. It’s the most frustrating phone I’ve ever had and I would’ve returned it if the warranty I ALSO purchased through Amazon Honored their warranty. But they didn’t. Amazon’s customer service and care of their long time customers has TRULY gone out the window.

I received an in2015 phone which is a oneplus 8, I paid the extra to get an 8 pro (in2025), becareful buying these “renewed”/open box items, now I’ll have to wait longer and spend more while they hold my refund to get what I really wanted

It was as described, and came preloaded with Crdroid (Android 11). A pleasant surprise.

However, this phone model has a problem with Android 11: OnePlus stopped working on Android 11 and focused on Android 12. Smart! The occasional random poweroff or halt on a “Qualcomm Crashdump Mode” screen is unlikely to be corrected for Android 11.

I’m still within the 90 day window, so I’ll upgrade to the newer release and hope that’s been addressed by OnePlus. I’ll update this review either way.

Update: it turns out the problem is the 5G radio causes the phone to crash to ‘Qualcomm Crash Dump Mode’. It’s easy to reboot (Vol+ & Power for 10 seconds). It’s easy to work around (set network preference to exclude 5G / LTE only). But the phone was defective upon receipt. The mainboard would have to be replaced to correct this. It’s still great hardware & a terrific 4G phone, but not what’s advertised.

The 120hz screen is amazing. I’m coming from a 60hz display and I can’t believe the clarity. The fingerprint reader works about 40% of the time. I may try redoing it to see if it gets a better read. I don’t do face recog. so I can’t speak on that. The switch from data to wifi can sometimes be a little confusing if you do manual shifts. Sometimes I’m at a clients house that has given me their guest wifi pass and I don’t want to be on their ISP when I access stuff like social media. The camera is great accept they nerfed the IR camera because there was that thing with seeing through clothing. It doesn’t BTW. total hoax. I was able to dial back the OS, reinstall the IR factory settings and then go back to Oxygen 13. I use the IR camera to see where screws are hidden in components that I’m working on in my lab.
I would definitely recommend this phone. Especially for the price.

This was supposed to include a 30w warp charger that would charger the phone at full speed. Instead it only included a cheap 12w charger by some obscure brand.

  7. Nicole Mann

This phone is really nice. I’ve only had it for a day but it came with the original OnePlus box and came with charger and cable. Phone looked like new and worked like new. The blue color on the phone is vibrant and beautiful, and the phone works great. The 120hz refresh is game changing. I hope this phone holds up because I really like it.

Came from Pixel 4xl and I can say this was the perfect upgrade. Software is just slightly tweaked to my liking. Cameras are great and the battery life is seller. Use the duel sim slots for work and home numbers. I unfortunately cannot give five stars because it states that it worked on ATT 5G network and that is just not the case. It does however grab 5G easily with T-Mobile and Verizon.
