In the search for a light and comfortable headset for long gaming hours off the PC and on my PS5, I settled on this pair. Sound is very smooth and relaxed. It has elevated mid-bass and recessed mid treble. It has a warm leaning V-curve overall, suitable for those who prefer more modern music. Audio quality for headsets have gone up substantially since the beginning of the pandemic, which I theorize is due to the massive increase in gaming (and competition in the gaming headset space as a result).

The sound quality of this headphone easily resolves just as well (albeit in a different way) as a pair of “proper cans” like the HD6XXs or HE4XX at a third of the price.

Sound quality aside, this headset also has excellent comfort. The HyperX Cloud 2’s have always been touted to be “very comfortable” which I find patently untrue due to it’s relatively high clamp force and unforgiving earpad size. This headset is the opposite: it has very low clamp and spacious earpads. I would definitely put this as one of the most comfortable pair of cans I’ve ever worn, and I own a pair of HD800s.

An absolute upgrade from my old set. Great for online gaming for hearing footsteps.

  3. Pradiumna Perez Escalona

These things don’t one side already. Waste of money.

  4. Michael Kausch

These were a gift for a gamer. They use it alot and love its performance. No issues and very pleased with its functionality.

  5. Mr. Bunch

Sound distorted bad echo to other players. Worst than my old one don’t waste your money.

  6. Bruno

It honestly is a great bang for your buck item. The sound quality is great and the surround sound does work as intended. However, the mic does give off a bit of an echo from what I’ve been told online. But if you’re in a private party chat it goes away somehow. So it just might be the game chat lobby itself.

  7. LIATA

I have been rocking these for a few weeks now and I’m impressed with the sound quality, but it would have been nice to show me how the mute button works, because it’s kind of hard to tell if it should be pushed down or not for it to be muted at first. But, these headphones are superior quality and the retractable mic is the bomb. It’s just difficult to push in and pull out sometimes cuz it’s so bendy, but I don’t have to worry about it breaking easy, because they’re great quality and they sound great too!

  8. Misty Wilson

Like the quality and the sound. Under the ear muffs, they flex, the screws are constantly working themselves out so I have to screw them in tight again every other day. That is quite annoying to do but the sound quality is good and the blocking out of other sound is great too.

  9. Aidan

The sound’s great, I’ve got no problems with that… it’s just that the microphone wasn’t included in my package… is there any place I can get one that fits this headset?

  10. ITpross

Excellent fit and comfort. The sound quality is very clear and crisp but lacks base compared to other headsets.

I just got the Steelseries 1P headset to play console games with a buddy and it sounds better for music than my XB900N Sony and my M50X Audio Technica headphones. Less scooped, more open, with better mids. Plus, the comfort level leaves both those pairs in the dust. Best part is it’s like 40% of the price of either of the others. I’m finding myself completely stunned by the audio quality and this result as a whole. My Sennheiser 660Ses still sound better but they’re like seven times the price and lack bass compared to the Steelseries, so when it comes to low end-heavy music I’d still take the Steelseries. If I was going to recommend a low priced pair of headphones to someone I’d honestly just recommend these even if the person isn’t a gamer.

The build quality is great and I don’t see myself ever breaking these, but I take care of all my stuff so that’s not a surprise. They’re made well and don’t feel cheap at all.

I’m as shocked as you are.

  12. Kindle Customer

It feels very light weight and comfortable, which is a problem I’ve had from other headphones. And I love how the mic can be hidden, so you can use them outside of gaming

  13. Lindsay Ewell

These headphones are great. I wish the microphone had a bit more range so it didn’t have to be right in front of my mouth to pick up things clearly. But everything else is great. Good audio quality and a comfortable fit.
