There’s good news for Assassin’s Creed fans. Ubisoft is planning to remake many games in the franchise while it also works on new AC games. Ubisoft has already announced two new Assassin’s Creed games, the Shadows and Hexe, however, as true fans, we just cannot forget the older titles and how rich of a story they had. Ubisoft CEO’s latest announcement hints that we might see not one, but a couple of remakes, possibly of the Black Flag among others.
Assassin’s Creed games are getting remakes, but what games?
In an interview, Yves Guillemot, Ubisoft CEO, stated that fans can get excited about some remakes, allowing them to revisit the older titles.
“Players can be excited about some remakes, which will allow us to revisit some of the games we’ve created in the past and modernize them; there are worlds in some of our older Assassin’s Creed games that are still extremely rich.”
Guillemot clearly hinted that there is more than one Assassin’s Creed game remake that you can expect. While he didn’t reveal the exact remakes Ubisoft is working on, fans already have a list they want. And it’s an appropriate one; games that will most likely be suitable for a remake.
So what are we looking at? The first possible game is Assassin’s Creed Black Flag since it’s one of fans’ favourite AC games. A report from Kotaku also affirmed the same. Next up is the Ezio trilogy, which includes Assassin’s Creed II, Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, and Assassin’s Creed Revelations.
If Ubisoft plans to remake these games, we hope they do it right. If you have been following Ubisoft for some time, you know what we mean. Nonetheless, as AC fans, we can get excited to revisit older titles soon. The exact timeline for the release or the announcement of the remakes remains unknown. But we guess we will have to have for some time.
Guillemot in the same interview also revealed his plans for AC games. He said “The goal is to have Assassin’s Creed games come out more regularly, but not for it to be the same experience every year. There are a lot of good things to come, including Assassin’s Creed Hexe.”
For the unversed, Assassin’s Creed Hexe is a different game from Shadows. The latter explores feudal Japan, letting you control two characters – Samurai Yasuke and Fujibayashi Nagora. Hexe, on the other hand, will be set in Central Europe during the 16th Century Holy Roman Empire, focusing on the witch hunt of that era.
