It’s easy to use. It can test both temperature and purity the water. I tested the tap, the brita filtered and hot water dispenser water. It reveals that my hot water dispenser may have some mineral build up and need some cleaning.
However knowing how your water softener works is important because this meter test impurity in water and not necessarily the hardness in water.
Overall good handy water tester for water impurity and temperature.

My video shows a comparison between the Mexybe TDS Digital Water Meter and the TDS Digital meter that came with my Zero Water Filter System. The Mexybe meter was more sensitive in detecting particles in the 4 water samples tested. The Mexybe meter also has more features; two that stand out the most to me are the lighted display and a button to clear the display, compared to the Zero Water meter that has no lit display and requires you to power it off then back on in order to clear the reading.
Unfortunately, the first sample was from a 1-day old Zero Water filtered sample that should have read zero, but I probably received a defective Zero filter because both meters detected particles. But, a week before this test, I tested a sample drawn from a different filter and got a zero reading with the Zero meter but a reading of 2ppm with the Mexybe, telling me that the Mexybe is more sensitive to detect particles than the Zero meter.
So, while my test may not have been absolute controlled scientific in a sterile laboratory, it was enough for me to conclude for my personal use, the Mexybe meter is more accurate and trustworthy for my needs in determining when I need to change my water filter.
With the added extra features, I’m very happy with my purchase, especially at such a decently affordable price point. I am very satisfied with the Mexybe TDS Meter and would not hesitate to recommend it to a family member or friend.

This water tester is a must for every household. I have tested it and works well. As you can see in my video that it will show you the mineral level of your water which is great to be aware of what we are drinking.

I bought this when it was $5, and it seems to have all of the essential functions of a good EC / TDS meter – it measures temperature, and conductivity, and adjusts both according to some preprogrammed data table + response curve to give an approximate TDS.
– I’ve only tested at room-ish temperature, in the range of 60F-80F
– (I would NOT expect it to be calibrated outside of that range)
– Distilled water measures at 0, as I’d expect
– Tap water TDS is in the ballpark of total of gH + kH, as per my Aquarium Co-Op Test strips
– Cutting the tap water with distilled water cuts the measured number in half, as I would expect
– (I would NOT expect this to be accurate for extreme or highly specific water conditions)
Some background:
TDS isn’t real.
Or at least it can’t be measured in PPM by two metal probes that you stick in some water.
What you get here is an APPROXIMATE TDS, based on EC (electrical conductivity), which is dependent on temperature, and attempts to gauge what amount ions, from salts (typically metals such as calcium, magnesium, and sodium, bonded to sulfur or chlorine or carbon, and often nitrogen, oxygen or hydrogen as well) are dissolved in the water.
Not everything that dissolves in water is equally conductive (i.e. testing Mountain Dew will not give you a PPM value anywhere near its g/L sugar content – which is to be expected).
So you can’t use this to measure gH or kH (or even TDS), but you can use it to get a “temperature check” on well, the temperature, and a reasonable ballpark of the TDS.
I doubt that there’s any special “2024” chip in here as they claim. It may have a generic chip manufactured in 2024, or be programmed with a more accurate conductivity response curve (it’s not linear) for the types of metal probes they use, or adjusting conductivity to more accurately represent what’s expected for the types of salts in drinking water, but it’s just a standard EC meter that’s easy to use, with a very easy-to-read display.

After having struggles with getting the optimal water parameters in my aquariums, I decided that I needed to get a new TDS tester to help get more accurate results. The instructions are pretty straightforward and the device itself is very simple to use. The screen is bright and easy to read, and it provides accurate measurements instantly with the press of a button. I really enjoy that this TDS tester displays the TDS, EC, and the temperature of the water all in one little convenient device. Not only has it been great for aquarium testing, but I have along used it for testing my drinking and pool water. It is small and portable so it can be taken on vacation, camping, or pretty much anywhere you go. It is nice knowing that the water that my family and I are consuming is safe to drink. After a fair bit of use, the tester has shown no signs of wear and is still providing accurate results. Testing my water has never been easier thanks to this device. Overall, this TDS tester has been a great asset for my family and I. Testing my water has now become a quick and easy routine rather than a tedious one.

Purchased because I wasn’t happy with test strips for testing my water for hardness. I had a feeling that my water softener had stopped functioning properly and the test strips I was using did show some hardness however the range was very large and the results were dependent on a rather subjective comparison to blurry colour samples on the side of the test strip container. I ensured the tester was zero’d by getting 0-1 ppm readings with distilled water. My “softened” water tested between 190 and 210 ppm which was what my unsoftened water originally tested at, so I knew the tester was accurate and my water softener wasn’t working at all. Good value and an accurate tester for my purposes.

I have had this TDS water tester for a month. It performs what it suppose to do. It helps us identify our tap water reading 160ppm which was not ideal to drink. I also bring it to my office and find office’s water cleaner’s water is still 140ppm after filtering.
It supports reading water quality TDS and water temperature. For water quality, it supports ppm, us/cm; for temerature, it supports both Fahrenheit and Celsius degree.
It is good value that I bought during its launching phase. The TDS reading is fast. I have two TDS water devices (from my friend’s device) to compare and their reading are slightly different, but in a reasonable range. When this device reads 160ppm and my friend’s device reading 150ppm. Thus, I think the device gives sufficient good range to tell us that our water quality is too hard.
The device’s back has label for “how pure is the water”. So when I read the 160ppm, I can immediately know that our water is “High Hardness water”. However, just several usage of this device during the past month, this label has one corner get peeled off. The label was not very waterproof. Bad design.
Another issue is when test very hot water temperature for water like 200 F degree: The device did not read the temperature immediately. The device shows the increase the temperature slowly every second.
Overall, it is a good value product for the buck and it performs what it suppose to do. I’m satisfied overall, but it has room to improve.

I purchased this for my travel, its super small, place it in your suitcase, the probe is easy to clean and seems pretty accurate. You can see if your water filter is actually working or not. This does a great job testing the water hardness and drinkability level. There is a chart on the back of the device and the LED display is bright and easy to read (ppm) is parts per million btw. It’s interesting testing distilled beverages to see how pure they are compared to water. In any case if you want to make sure water is as clean as possible this digital tester does it.

It’s a simple to use TDS water tester, small enough to fit in your pocket. Just dip it in the water and it tells you the TDS levels – very handy for quality-checking of tap water, aquariums, pool etc.
