The price hike season has officially begun. After Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel has hiked prepaid tariffs by 11-21 percent. The price hike affects monthly as well as annual plans, alongside 2 and 3-monthly plans. Add-on plan prices have also surged, with 1GB of daily add-on costing Rs 22, instead of 19. The price hike comes a day after the spectrum auction held on Wednesday. Let’s see the new prepaid tariffs and their benefits.
Airtel’s new prepaid tariffs effective July 3, 2024
The new prepaid recharge plan prices will be made effective on July 3, the same day as Jio’s revised prices. Following are the revised tariffs.
Airtel’s monthly recharge plans
– Rs 199 (old price Rs 179)
Unlimited voice and 100 SMS, 2GB of data for 28 days.
– Rs 299 (old price Rs 265)
Unlimited voice and 100 SMS, 1GB of daily data for 28 days.
– Rs 349 (old price Rs 299)
Unlimited voice and 100 SMS, 1.5GB of daily data for 28 days.
– Rs 409 (old price Rs 359)
Unlimited voice and 100 SMS, 2.5GB of daily data for 28 days.
– Rs 449 (old price Rs 399)
Unlimited voice and 100 SMS, 3GB of daily data for 28 days.
Airtel’s 2-month recharge plans
– Rs 579 (old price Rs 479)
Unlimited voice and 100 SMS, 1.5GB of daily data for 56 days.
– Rs 649 (old price Rs 549)
Unlimited voice and 100 SMS, 2GB of daily data for 56 days.
Airtel’s 3-month recharge plans
– Rs 509 (old price Rs 455)
Unlimited voice and 100 SMS, 6GB of data for 84 days.
– Rs 859 (old price Rs 719)
Unlimited voice and 100 SMS, 1.5GB of daily data for 84 days.
– Rs 979 (old price Rs 839)

Airtel’s annual recharge plans
– Rs 1999 (old price Rs 1799)

Airtel’s add-on recharge plans
– Rs 22 (old price Rs 19)

– Rs 77 (old price Rs 65)
4GB of data valid till the base plan’s validity.
The total price hike ranges from 12-27 percent depending on the plans. Reliance Jio hiked its prepaid tariffs by around 20 percent. We expect Vodafone Idea (VI) to follow suit.
The increased prices come a day after the spectrum auction held on Wednesday, where Airtel as well as Jio participated in acquiring different spectrums for their services. Airtel acquired 97 MHz spectrum for Rs 6,857 crore. That spectrum is used for 5G services.
