Meta AI WhatsApp

Meta AI on WhatsApp will soon be able to edit your photos

WhatsApp added Meta AI to the app earlier this year. Meta AI, for the unversed, is an AI chatbot tool built on the Llama 3 model. Ever since the tool’s release, Meta is constantly working on it to make it better for the general public. Sometime back, in a beta update, the tool was spotted in the Attachments section on WhatsApp, allowing users to create their own images and send them in a chat. Now, Meta is testing the ability of Meta AI to edit your photos and tell you some insights about them. The feature was spotted on Android beta, and here’s everything you need to know about it.

Meta AI on WhatsApp will reply and edit your photos for you

According to WABetaInfo, the latest WhatsApp beta update on Android version 2.24.14.20, makes Meta AI more promising. It gives the AI bot the ability to reply and edit photos. So far, Meta AI has not been able to recognize and understand photos. However, now, the AI tool can understand, reply, and edit your photos.

Beta users on the said Android version of the app get a pop-up screen telling them about the ability of Meta AI to reply to photos and edit them. This feature may let the AI tool know more about your photos and edits, allowing it to remember and use that context in your further requests to Meta AI.

As of now, this feature is available on the Android beta, however, we should expect it to also become available in the iOS beta later. Although WhatsApp hasn’t confirmed it, the feature should be rolled out to the public in the stable version of the app sometime later this year, depending on the testing period.

Other than this, WhatsApp is testing a slew of features that we expect to be available in the stable version of the app soon. Some of the notable features include the ability of Meta AI to create an avatar of yourself by letting it scan a couple of your photos. You can set this avatar as your profile picture. This feature was also spotted on Android beta last week.

WhatsApp will also gain a new nifty feature called Video Note mode, which will allow users to send a quick video. This is great for those who do not want to use the regular video mode to capture full-screen videos. Videos captured in the Video Note mode will likely be in a circular format akin to Instagram Notes’ videos.
