Having a slightly bent and large handelbar on my mountain bike, I didn’t find yet the perfect spot to fix it and shoot nice video.

At first this seemed a good product, fitted the handlebars of my bike well and was solid though it did vibrate quite a bit, the last week the vibration was getting worse and I thought my GoPro was the problem, then whilst out on the road my GoPro flew off without warning and went under the wheels of a van, on inspection the bracket that the GoPro slides into had disintegrated on both sides. If this was a cheap eBay purchase i would expect it but when you buy the actual companies high priced product you expect it to have been tested to destruction and be able to last a month of road use without falling apart. Returning for a refund and now have a load of GoPro products without a gopro. Not impressed.

Got this mount to try different camera mounting positions on my rides. Digging the ability to mount to differert size tubes; overside aluminum on my mountain bike and akinny steel on my road bikes. My only negative is that the mount can rotate when hitting a good solid drop or pothole. Other than that I have been happy with it.

For starters I would say this is a quality product that I would be happy to “hang” my camera investment off of. However, when you look at videos taken using this you could easily be mislead into thinking it can solve a lot of your camera mounting challenges. The device itself is a quality products BUT it comes with 2 rubber liners to match it to the bar diameter you are looking to mount the camera to. I would say the largest of these is mildly useful – at it’s fullest extent it just about copes with the handle bars of a bicycle (and I do mean just about!). I wanted to mount a camera on the crash bars of my motor bikes – not a chance! So that’s the largest of the liners! without a liner it easily copes with the crash bars 0 it just neds a thinner liner. So what is the other liner for? Well if the largest only just copes with a bicycle handlebar I can only assume the other one is for attaching a camera to a gnats wedding tackle. Honestly I have 2 roll bat go pro attachments and they are too big and this is too small thou clearly a thinner liner would do the job since the reach of the device itself without a liner is more than enough. – they have a gap in the market (one I’m sure they could plug with a different liner or probably more likely with a whole new device for us mugs to spend money on). All in all the quality of the product is very high BUT it is so much less flexible than it could have been for wider mounting points and includes options for – well gnat enthusiasts?

Bought this for a Hero 7, the quality is immediately apparent – fixings etc. are all more secure and the whole grip has a sturdier feel about it than the generic products for cameras.
One gripe I have is with the pads provided – both are quite thick, there was no way I could fit the grip onto my hybrid handlebars with these – however, there is a thin rubber lining attached to the grip which allowed a secure fitting, and of course you can always use a thinner pad or a piece of old inner timing which does the trick as well.
****Update – now been using daily for three months (6th Feb 2021) and still solid – really pleased!****

This GoPro handlebar accessory is first very expensive and not as good as you would expect when paying a premium price. Riding in London for about 3 months now and it literally fell off of the bar. No crush, no external damage, just left the bike in the rack over the night and in the morning was on the floor.
No option to claim it or file the complaint.
    I’m very disappointed

Need to remove the rubber clamp that comes with it to actually fit on the handle bar of my road bike. Doesn’t fill sturdy wiouth it thou. Does have a low profile which is good.

Excellent idea and very well made. Looks great and should do the job well. But, some potential problems depending on use (in my case mounted around one-inch diameter motorcycle crash bars): there’s no lock as such, just a screw-down clamp intended to stop it unclamping and falling off. Could this loosen with vibration? The item comes with two decent rubber “inner” pads to cater for different diameter tubes and to allow for some compression when tightening. With one-inch tubes i have NEITHER in use: Because using the thinner one doesn’t quite let the clamp close enough to lock it with the screw, yet without a rubber insert it needs to close right up (because even the thinner one is thick enough to make a big difference). I guess that means it’s as secure as it can be… but still doesn’t mean it won’t loosen with vibration just enough for the clamp to pop out. Unlike the permanent bolt-down RAM Ball tube mounts, this can come completely undone. We will see i guess…
