I have an older model Benq LCD projector that I use to conduct professional workshops, and display lessons for school and church. It’s a great projector but it operates with an older monitor cable; it doesn’t have an HDMI port, but I have a newer laptop computer that doesn’t take the older monitor cable. I didn’t want to purchase another projector because I consider my projector one of the best ever made. So, I purchased the HDMI to VGA video converter/adapter cable to solve this problem. When I first used it, my projector gave an error message; however, after searching for the remedy online, I found out that all I needed to do was lower the resolution on my computer to make it work properly. The change in resolution worked, and now I don’t have to look for an older laptop computer to make my projector work. The converter/adapter cable did the job!

Two Best Buys didn’t have these. I ordered and took a couple days for delivery. Great product did the job perfectly.

  3. Meggy

The item fits perfectly snug and intact with the VGA cable and fits just right with the HDMI. There is zero wiggle in the connection. My last device like this busted and was a different brand. This one is much better and the screen quality is kept nice and bright/ stays connected with no issues. Thank you!

I got it for my monitor. It’s working well so far. Get’s the job done. Not a high quality material, but quality in range with the price.

i have an *ancient* Acer monitor that still more-or-less works but BECAUSE it’s ancient is designed with a VGA monitor-to-CPU hookup. since my actual CPU is an HP Pavilion Wave which doesn’t have a VGA port but does have an HDMI one, i started out with a different converter cable and pretty much burned it out. my priority here was cheap and effective, and so far so good. i leave mine running 24/7 with a ton of tabs open,, hence why the “if this survives my setup most folks should be fine”.

I needed an adapter to connect my HP Pavilion laptop to my acerX193w monitor. I wanted an extra monitor to to expand my screen work space. When I used the adapter to connect I got a “cannot display” message” so I was initially disappointed. My acer extra montitor is almost ten years old so I had to do some searching on how to get it to display correctly. After changing some of my display settings, it worked just fine. Adapter seems sturdy and made from good material. I am glad I just had to buy this adapter and not a new extra monitor.

My new Dell sat unused for days while I researched how to make it work with the connections on my old perfectly good 17″ acer monitor. This adapter worked perfectly. In the meantime I’m waiting for my new larger monitor to arrive Then I’m planning on keeping the adapter handy for my husband who will probably not want to buy a new monitor when he upgrades his 5+ year-old computer. Thanks for a great product. I do wish that you would allow returns for that guy who it didn’t work for. Or at least offer technical support to him.

Good product. A great way to add a monitor. The only suggestion I have is it would have been nice for the converter to come with installation drivers. It is plug-and-play, and Windows finds and installs a driver that works. I had to play with the set-up, so it displayed the same as my other monitors.
Good product, would not hesitate to buy again.

I needed this for gaming from my Switch to a VGA (PC Mode) from HDMI. So far I’ve tested on 4 TVs in my house and it doesn’t work on two of them but it does on the other two. Now on one of those supported TVs the image doesn’t adjust properly from the vertical space even when adjusting under settings etc but the other shows up perfect! So I know the cable works is what I’m getting at. What I really bought it for is so I can play my Switch on an actual Dell Monitor at work during my lunch hour and I can test that tonight. Our monitors don’t have HDMI but only VGA and DP. DP doesn’t work when going from HDMI to DP so that’s a no, and downside to VGA is it doesn’t carry audio but the headphone jack on the Switch still works in docked mode.

During my 4 TV test and of the two that worked, I didn’t notice any input lag whatsoever. I’m using a 3rd party mini dock and HDMI to VGA Adapter on top of that and still no lag. That may differ when I test at work. Tested at work with no issues except the monitor only accepted 720p and showed “Mode not supported” until I lowered the output resolution on my Switch.

I have 3 of these, they work great

Works well with my android tv boxes. And I haven’t tried it with my new raspberry Pi 4, because I need a slightly different adapter for it, my Pi only has micro HDMI. But I’m pretty sure when I get that cable it would work well with that too.
