Vivo Y28s with 50MP cameras launched, but you can’t buy it online


Vivo Y28s is the company’s latest smartphone that has arrived in India’s budget market. It debuted last week in select markets, but its arrival in India is rather quiet. Vivo did not go for pomp and show for the Y28s launch. The phone will also not go for online sale. According to a report, Vivo’s new Y28s will be available for offline buyers, meaning you can buy it from brick-and-mortar stores.

Vivo Y28s specifications

The new Vivo Y28s is a budget smartphone featuring a 6.5-inch HD+ LCD with a 90Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 840 nits. Powering the Vivo Y28s is an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor, paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. You can expand the storage by up to 1TB via a microSD card. It has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor on the power button. The smartphone also has an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance.

For optics, the Y28s has a 50MP main camera and a 2MP second camera. It has an 8MP selfie camera, residing inside the water drop-style notch. Vivo has equipped the camera app with features such as Night Mode. The Vivo Y28s has a 5000mAh battery with support for 15W fast wired charging through a USB-C port. The smartphone runs Android 14-based Funtouch OS 14. Its connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 5G, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

You have three options if you decide to buy the Y28s. According to 91Mobiles, the variant with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage costs Rs 13,999, the one with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage is priced at Rs 15,499, and the model packing 8GB of RAM and 128GB of memory costs Rs 16,999. The report added that while the first two options are now available, the last option will go on sale after a few weeks. The Vivo Y28s comes in purple and blue colours.
