Received it on Saturday and updated the product. So far in still testing it out but it seems pretty good. Definitely faster than my previous 2019 ASUS Strix. Happy it made it home in perfect conditions. Just took a while since it was shipped via boat from FL to Panama.

Great gaming laptop. I wanted to address some negative reviews, as they made me hesitate before making my purchase. First, one customer said they ran their system analysis, and it revealed lesser graphics card than what they thought they had purchased. When I finally made the decision to purchase this laptop, I was a bit gunshy, so I ran my own analysis the day it arrived, so I could return it if it was less than advertised.

Intel Core i9 13th gen, Harddrive 1 TB SSD, Graphics is RTX 4070. Some folks also complained the mousepad didn’t have a number pad. Mine does. Everything I purchased as advertised, was delivered. That said, I encourage you to run your own analysis, as I’m inclined to believe those folks who posted negative reviews were probably accurately recounting their own experiences. My experience was positive. Please do your own analysis. And then post your own review to help the next prospective gamer.

I run UE5 on it and it runs like a desktop. It will never be a desktop, but I really don’t mind. It gets loud when you run something intensive on it, there is a LOT of airflow, and when not using intensively there is a small sound to it, like a HDD but it doesn’t have one ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Mine came with a dead blue subpixel dead center, I went to support because it was right dead CENTER. I can live with it, but it just really bugged me that support really did not help all that much. I did spend a lot of money, but a dead pixel in the dead center really bugs me 😭

All games that I played ran smoothly without any sort of trouble. Screen is also amazing with better colours, even though I did not use it.

With all of things that I liked, there are some issues aa well. Coil whine is there and it can be clearly heard when in silent mode. Sleep is not working as it should be, sometimes laptop is on when put to sleep only the keyboard is turned off. Also, RAM is occupied 11GB out of 32gb when after laptop is started and no programs are running (I have disabled most of startup applications).

However, even with all those, this deserves 5 star since it’s performance overcomes them.

Me ha parecido un gran producto, desde el acabado exterior, las funciones que tiene y las características técnicas. Puedo tener una gran capacidad de procesamiento inclusive con aplicaciones que en otros equipos dejaban de funcionar. Sinceramente recomendado. Excelente equipo hasta ahora.

The best of the best Asus ROG Strix with Nebula Display. My fav laptop i’ve owned so far. The display is out of the world clarity. Compute speed is better than any other 4070 GPU. Keyboard typing comfort is just the best!! Overall would recommend.

I almost never write reviews becuase normally the products work as described. This laptop was an aboslute nightmare, I spent probably 25 hours over 3 days trying to figure out how to enable HDR for the Nebula OLED screen and RTX 4070 I spent a lot of money for.

You CANNOT enable HDR in Windows 11 – the slider is greyed out. No matter what changes you make in NVidia Control panel, the ASUS software, the MUX switch or anything else, you cannot enable HDR or Dolby Vision. The only possible way is to use a specific “app” in the MS Store, and even then it does not truly work. Supposedly in some games you can select HDR but if Windows itself is stuck in 8-Bit sRBG mode, the game does not override it. I tried using the expanded color palettes (DCI-P) and two other wide gamut settings in the ASUS program, but none would allow you to turn on HDR.

It feels like this entire laptop is just a scam, or maybe ASUS plans to update it in the future, but sorry I’m not paying $2000 for a laptop that *might* someday do what it claims to do now. I tired a dozen different videos from HDR, HDR10, HDR10+ or Dolby Vision and not a single one sent the HDR palette from the laptop to my LG CX OLED TV, which will tell you when it recognized and switches to a larger gamut setting. There’s a worthless Dolby Vision application pre-installed and of course it will not do anything helpful.

IIRC the only way to get DV to work is if you’re streaming video from a MS Store approved app (Netflix). Any locally stored videos are stuck running SDR.

I’ve been building my computers since the mid 90’s so I know what I’m doing – which was returning this within 3 days (after spending close to 20 hours researching and reading forums). It simply does not make sense to sell an HDR/DoVi capable screen and video card, but then completely disable the HDR setting in W11. I really
