  1. Amazon Customer

    The size makes it easy to use because of space. It runs nice and fast.

    Blown away by what you get for 350-400 dollars today. It is very quiet and has very low power consumption. If you were thinking of a Mac Mini (probably weren’t) for IT’S low power consumption, try this instead. It’s a great little machine.

    I got this a few weeks ago and mostly use it for work, which mostly entails complex Excel workbooks with a lot of intensive macros. I usually need to have two sheets open at once. So far it’s a great PC that hasn’t had any problems running this stuff at all. I love the interface and the overall functionality. Very happy for the money. I did use it to do some work in Blender and it functions really well aside from taking quite awhile to render a fairly simple model (1-2 minutes for something with a few different textures and one light source). I think that’s to be expected tho for the hardware. It’s not designed to do graphics intensive stuff out of the box, but it will render anything if you have some time to spare. Overall, I’m really happy with it and it’s all I need until I can afford a $2,000 computer with a few extra bells and whistles.

    I love this little PC. The only issue I have is that it will not reboot. If I click the restart button in Windows 11, the PC powers down with no issue, but will not start back up. The only way to get it to power back up is to unplug the power and then plug it back in after a few seconds. Maybe this could be fixed with a Bios update, but I can’t find a link to update the Bios for an SER5 machine. I searched both the Beelink website and the pdf provided by Amazon. I don’t see a bios update listed. I have enable the bios to start up when powered on already, but that doesn’t fix the reboot issue. Any ideas??

    I was originally looking for a laptop that had the power for heavy multitasking and a bit of gaming. I wanted upgradability, quiet, powerful, compact, and simple. I quickly got into the $1500 range and out of my price range. I wanted a computer that I can easily set up on my couch and take down as needed.

    This computer has exceeded my expectations in every way. It is quiet, very powerful, had a clean install of Windows 11 Pro. From the moment I plugged it in, it has run flawlessly. It was easy to set up, everything worked as it should.

    Because of the pricing of this PC, I was able to put together a setup that is much more custom, rather than being stuck with what a laptop offers. I bought a nice portable monitor to my liking, I bought a small mechanical keyboard, a very good gaming mouse and saved a lot of money in the process.

    Being a techie, I looked into all the components they used. It is obvious to me that they put a lot of effort into building a quality computer. And they took time to design a nice well engineered case to hold it all and make it perform and cool. I was worried that they were just trying to build a cheap PC and sell it for cheap and that is not at all the case. I am impressed, which is not easy to do.

    The only flaw I can find, which I already knew going in, was the lack of video out on the USB-C. It is a limitation of the motherboard and they may just not of had that option.

    This PC is very fast, games perfect, runs cool. I highly recommend this setup with the 5600H processor. The only software glitch which you will need to address is downloading and installing the latest AMD adrenaline drivers and interface to get the most out of gaming and graphics.

    Good Job Beelink! Keep up the good work, you deserve it on this one.

    I had trouble with set up. I got ‘Not supported” messages for my Logitech mouse, Microsoft keyboard and Acer monitor. It suddenly recognized all until I tried to install updates. I gave up and was going to send back, but now it is updated, up and running beautifully. I’ve ordered Logitech speakers and am hoping all will be fine. Very excited!

    We purchased the Ryzen 5 5560U version of the mini-pc. We removed the NVMe containing Windows Pro and installed a fresh Samsung EVO. We copied the hard disk from the old machine to the new Beelink machine. It was mostly trouble free.

    We encountered trouble with Linux graphics after we powered up the Beelink machine. The machine lacked hardware acceleration. The Linux 5.4 kernel was too old and does not support the integrated graphics properly. Instead of using the amdgpu driver, the kernel used the {ati,fbdev} drivers. Once we figured out the problem we upgraded to a 5.15 kernel and hardware acceleration using the gpu was available via the amdgpu driver.

    One other problem we encountered with the Beelink and Linux was, Alsa and PulseAudio blows. We could not get sound to work using external speakers. The operating system insisted in pumping sound over HDMI even though the monitor lacked speakers. The external speakers used the headphone jack. We had to switch to external USB speakers to get sound to work.

    We also would have liked more USB ports. Between keyboard, mouse, printer, scanner, speakers, phone tether, garmin tether, and camera tether, we ran out of ports quickly. You might want to purchase a powered USB hub in you have more than a few devices.

    Here is the additional hardware we purchased for the machine:

    * SAMSUNG 970 EVO SSD 500GB NVMe, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MG119KG
    * SABRENT 10-Port USB 3.0 Hub, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0797NWDCB
    * LISRFNIEAN USB External Soundbar Speakers, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B296J7D6

    All in all, I’d give this machine a 4.5 out of 5. We paid the Microsoft tax for an operating system we did not want. Linux was not as smooth as it could have been due to the hardware, but the hardware has nice specs. I prefer to keep the hardware with nice specs and see Linux catch up.
