My 11 year-old son bought this for himself. He uses it for capturing video during various activities, especially fishing. For the price, it’s pretty good. It’s definitely more geared towards entry-level usage. Battery life isn’t great and it doesn’t have a removable battery, so when the battery is out and you’re in the typical locations using it, such as on the lake fishing, it’s not convenient. Picture quality is as expected and he’s had a lot of fun creating memorable videos. I would recommend this for the amateur user.

This is my 1st GoPro & I am quite pleased with the quality for the money. It has the basic features I wanted for occasional vacation use & because it only has a few features & modes, it is easy to use (no deep menus to dig through when just trying to get a quick shot or video.) If you are looking for something to use on vacation, I recommend this. Serious adrenaline sports people might be better off with the more expensive models, but this is a great fit for the occasional user.

Bonjour ce message est pour les futur acheteur de ce produit hero 7 white , n’acheté jamais cette camera , bug en permanance , gele tout le temps pendant 30 minute , difficulté a charger , ne se connecte pas a l’apllication gopro , on peut changer le fps en 30 ou 60 seulement quand la camera est connecté a l’appli (qui ne fonctionne pas ) j’ai conctacter gopro et personne ne me repond jamais , pire camera vraiment , jai perdu 240$ avec cette camera , vraiment du vol , il mon emvoyer un email pour que je la retourne mais le delai terminais la journée meme qui me l’on envoyé , a moins qu’il menvoi une nouvelle camera , je ne cesserai jamais dire a tous les futur acheteur de gopro que cest vraiment des produit desastreux !!!

Tiene las funciones básicas, buena resolución, lo único malo es que no se pueden reproducir los videos en la cámara, para ver fotos y videos hay que descargar una aplicación. Para sumergirla hay que comprarle una carcasa y recién sacada del empaque tiene defectos de software pero todo se arregla al conectarla al internet y actualizar el sistema operativo. Es una buena opción pero no la mejor. Si se busca una con mejores características es preferible gastar un poco más y comprar una versión más reciente.

The title of this add says “Waterproof” and that is flat out not true. On the very first time we took this in the water it fried the unit and now the unit does not work at all. Obviously, it leaked through the SD card port flap because there is corrosive looking material in that spot.
Don’t label a unit waterproof it is not. If it requires a waterproof case, as the previous version did, then say so. When you state it is waterproof one would believe it is waterproof without any additional accessories.
Did love the product but, bout it on October 9th, 2018 and it stops working Nov 28, 2018. Barely over a month and it is useless to me. I am a videographer and with this poor equipment I will have to rethink the hoices I make with goPro.

I liked how easy it was to start and stop recording. The GoPro on a helmet cam mount works best for me. It’s hands free and also provides extra safety. Changing modes easily is also a big plus!

Don’t listen to all the reviews the only bad thing about this go pro is you can’t take the battery out bring a dang battery pack with you if your that worried about it the battery life is 2 hours I use it for riding my dirt bike and I’m stoked with it. People like to criticize a product so badly, In reality put the quality to 1040 60 and it is unreal, The sound every thing about it is awesome and for the price? You cannot beat it. Do yourself a favor and get it. (I’m not even a loyal go pro user)

Bought this puppy for a 10 Year Anniversary to Bermuda with the wife. Used it pretty much non-stop for 10 days. Let’s get cracking.
So, let’s the get bad stuff out of the way first: 1) The touch screen underwater is a royal pain in the a**. It randomly switches from Picture to Time Lapse Video to Video on a whim, seemingly without reason. While underwater the screen is also partially responsive at best, and it’s a super pain to have to surface IOT turn Burst Photo off and check a recent picture. The only interactions that really worked 100% were those that had physical buttons (i.e., Mode Switch, Turn On/Off, etc…) and those were great. 2) There’s a significant delay between pressing the button to take a picture and the shot happening, at least a good 1/2-3/4 second. May not seem like much, but when you’re trying for a perfect shot of sea life, 1/2 second makes a significant difference. 3) The battery life is garbage. Running it full tilt you’ll get about 60-90 minutes of operations. You can save SOME life by turning off wifi, and other bells and whistles, but overall you won’t get a long time. You can get a solid 45 minute dive in, but then you have to wait for it to recharge as the battery isn’t exchangeable (which seems insane being my HERO 3 had a removable battery).
For the upsides (and there are significant ones): 1) The natural waterproofing works wonders and it’s super nice to be able to just take the camera around without worrying about fitting a waterproof case and muffling the sound. The seal is nice and tight, firm but not impossible to open, and wholly effective. 2) The shots are amazing. It’s a significant jump over the HERO 3/4, and with image stabilization it’s easier than ever to take amazing shots (some of the graininess of the attached shots is just due to water quality and visibility issues). The video is clear and crisp, and well defined for an entry level camera. My only peeve with the Photo option is I wish there were a way to narrow the view field from the SUPER wide angle. Maybe there is one and I didn’t find it, perfectly possible, but it’d be nice to shoot non-wide angle at times. 3) Microphone is decent, and can easily pick up on voices from over 10 feet away. It’s not SUPER high quality, but reasonable enough. 4) Above water, the touch screen is responsive and effective.
Verdict? It’s worth the price, but if you have the cash to kick up to the Black Edition, do it. Just being able to swap batteries will make it worth it. I don’t know how responsive the touch screen is underwater for the Black Edition, I just hope it’s better. If you’re not looking to dive, this is going to be a great entry level action camera. Pair this with an accessories kit (usually suggested as an add on purchase) and you’ve got a fantastic kit for capturing some great moments.

The camera has a lot of issues with charging and powering off, it seemed to turn itself back on constantly and kill the battery, I turned off voice commands because it was taking photos and powering on while I was watching TV, it is a novelty but can become annoying so I suggest that you enable only to use and when not using disable voice commands, I attached it to my drone and it was a bit heavy so the drone went into a vibration but the image stabilization cleaned that up nicely as you can see in the short clip. Still images seemed out of phase, likely cannot handle vibrations, the video is a bit fuzzy on the edges but way clearer than the 1080p camera that came with the drone so that is a plus, in total, The photo image quality is OK, a bit fish-eyed on close images, the stabilization is excellent, video is good at 1440p 60fps (1440 Max res which is just a square image rather than wide screen, 1080 is wide screen) but the camera has issues powering off, voice command is to relaxed so “Blow on the Wand” will be interpreted as “GoPro Turn On” for example and I could not get it to fully power off so the battery is dead the next day, many people have issues with charging and power on/off issues… hopefully they will fix this in a firmware update. So all in all I expected more, I can get better result from a much lower priced camera. The Black version is apparently much better but also much more expensive… I suggest go for the Black version or shop around for a better camera for the money. It did come with helmet and aux mounts but so do many sports cameras now. I will keep it but only use it for supplemental angles not as a main camera.

I have been a cheerleader for GoPro since the beginning – started out and upgraded camera each year, unfortunately the Hero 7 white comes shipped and right off Firmwear upgrade – that’s fine but the camera constantly freezes and now wont turn off – just when i needed it to work it let me down
ALSO remember IT HAS AN INTERNAL BATTERY – so i returned the battery charger as well
other GoPros froze but i could at lease remove the battery and it worked fine
