Perfect for cutting out wind noise on it’s own, with the included sponge cover or with a seperate directional microphone. Helps make your clips sound even more professional. Reduces the number of times you need to record the sound track on a seperate device, Ideal for run and gun shooting.

I bought this for doing car videos and having less wind noise… it did just that! My main gripe is when having to change batteries, you have to take the camera off the mount and remove the assembly to remove the battery. On a full track day I might go through 2-3 batteries, so it’s a big pain to remove everything each time, replace the battery, then spend time making sure the mount is in the right place again. Outside of that, it’s a wonderful add on and makes videos, even at 130+ mph, watchable!

Amazed at all the people saying don’t take in the water with the media mod attached. Of course you wouldn’t. I would hope people have basic common sense!
Also. Most people buy this unit to “add” a decent external mic to it. The built in one on the media mod isn’t much better than the GoPros mic.
So if you buy this unit. Also realise that you need to spend more money on that good other mic you’ll plug in and attach to cold shoe on the mod. Then you’ll have great audio also.

I was looking for media mod with directional mic and wind muff. This is the only one on the market for the GoPro 10. Nothing else comes close. I purchased a metal after market media mod and it gets to hot or cold affecting the GoPro, making it shut off. This media mod is made out of plastic and has built-in mic & wind muff. It’s pricey, but worth it.

We are no other choice for gorpo9… But am disappointed for 1. Its not waterproof… 2.mic slot need extra cable to convert trrs to trs. 3.sometime gopro getting heat bcz of this 4.sometines gopro getting stuck 5.high price

This mod works great it improves sound quality and provides connection ports and cold shoes for lights and external mics. The improvement needed is you still use the cameras mounting tabs through the mod which makes it very hard to install fresh batteries because you have to remove the mod to change them.

I used this mod with the included mic and the sound quality was horrible. Hooked up my Rode wireless go and made huge difference. For the build in mic to work you must be directly in front of it. Slight wind makes audio unusable.
