I contacted Amazon about the missing cord, who assisted me to contact HP. I sent them pictures of the sent cord & the office. They again sent me the wrong cord. It’s a good thing that I ordered a replacement cord from Amazon or I still couldn’t use my laptop.

Hello Everybody, I bought this computer a week ago. To get things started on a scale 1 to 10 on computer literacy, I’m about a low 5. My last and first LP was a HP which cost 950.00 dollars and for 10 years, I was on it every day. I basely wore it out and it was a good one. That’s the main reason I bought a HP LP this time. This new computer is great. It’s fast and has a lighted keyboard, which is great. I paid around 600.00 dollars for it. I didn’t know how out of date my old LP was till I got this new one. I love this new LP but I also like onions, so to each his own. I can’t say nothing bad about this HP LP. For the money, I think it’s top notch. I would recommend to anyone and would buy again. I hope this helps someone, so I’m signing off now. Happy Motoring Lowell Brooks

I think this was originally a Windows 10 computer. The Windows 11, version 22H2 update downloaded to 100% but would not install even when I left it on twice for 6 hours. The Windows automatic repair took me to a Windows 10 page, as did other searches. After 3 days of useless retries and restarts, I told Windows help I was going to return the computer to Amazon (and I was). Miracle! An hour or so later the update had installed all by itself. Now it works as expected. It appears to be a good computer, but I don’t appreciate the process I had to go through.

Works streamlessly. This is a great laptop for the price. This could easily be a $800.00 machine.

Not sure why anyone thought this is a touchscreen. Nowhere does it mention it. Take a look under “Product Guides and Documents”, which you can find just above the review section. There you will see is a highlighted link to the “SPECIFICATION SHEET (PDF)”. Click on that, and it will tell you even more detail about this machine than what is already outlined in the product description. And because of that, I wont rehash all what this has. But look for that link so you can decide if it has what you need!!!
For those saying that this does not have a finger print ID? YES IT DOES. Search for it in your settings. IT IS A SETTING that you must set up. Hit the magnifying glass icon, then type in “fingerprint sign-in”. Follow instructions. Can also set for using a PIN, which I do.
Overall, it is a good basic laptop. Enough memory to load some photos and videos, plenty of processing power for a lot of basic uses: watching video, email, internet browsing, low end games. Likely good for most school needs, and some office needs. I haven’t pushed it to the max because my needs are fairly low end. I have a separate high end desktop for true gaming needs, and for mega storage. Cant blame a machine for not doing what you want if you dont know anything about it to start. Learn what 8 gb ram is and what 512 gb ssd can do for you, and know what your needs are. Work up, or down from there. This seemed to be the sweet spot for my casual needs.
It runs smoothly, quietly, and cool. Battery lasts a long while, which is nice for on the go use. Your experience may vary. Depends on what you are doing, your settings, etc.
Very responsive, though like I said I havent put it through the paces.
Even Microsoft Edge is blazing quick and easy to use. I had it on my last laptop (half the memory and processing) and it was all I could run. I figured I would be switching to firefox, but I keep using Edge without issue.
Responsive touchpad, though since I prefer using a mouse I turned off the touchpad.
Optional backlit keyboard. Can turn on or off, or up at any time with press of button
Quickly boots up, good instant connectivity
Speakers are fine. Crisp. They are perfectly good, and offer some mild range. They dont make my ears bleed when I watch a music video.
ONLY thing I have experienced that has been bothersome is that sometimes my “m” key doesnt register. I will be typing along, and the letter m did not actually type. However, it is hit and miss, and it might be a matter of how I am sitting or something. I havent had the experience while writing this review. Unless you notice missing m’s that I didnt.
I’ pleased. So far so good. I am giving it 5 stars (4.5 if we could do half ratings), and am giving it that for the CLASS of laptop, and that it is what the product description says it is. Minor annoyances regarding anti virus, updates, microsoft stuff is typical across computers. All in all, it is what I expected, nothing negative that I can think of, and if I experience anything else worth sharing–good, bad, or otherwise– I will do so. I keep up with my reviews. I am an avid reviewer and aim to be helpful as much as possible.

Its an HP and another one that the fans are not working and it is getting hot. The vents are on the bottom of the computer, therefore no where to breath. I just bought a fan cooler Kyolly cooling pad to go with it and it is doing the job. I also have an extended warranty on this computer because I had an HP in the past with a cooling problem. I will not be returning it and not talking to the company because the external fans are doing the job. Sometimes you can get a download to make internal fans work but not sure if that is the problem.
As for the computer functions it is fast starts up fast and I like it. The only thing I did not like is it automatically changed all my documents from my old computer to my new. So keep that in mind when you purchase your new computer for memory purposes. Also one drive is still full and that is one reason I purchased a new one. So I will have to get a different cloud source.
