I tried using these for both PS3, PS4, XB1 and XB360 controllers. They are pretty easy to put on the sticks. But there is a lot more empty initial swing in the PS controllers than the XB ones, due to the PS controllers having longer stick rods. This was my first attempt with such a product, so it was a trial run to see which stiffness I needed, so I got the mixed stiffness pack. Even the lightest stiffness made my sticks immovable objects. It took incredible strength to move them at all, and with my greatest effort, could not get them to move very much past 15 – 20%. Even using my whole hand, pulling the stick, I could barely get it to 100%. The stick had great difficulty teaching the edge of the rim because the foam completely gets in the way at the edge. They also looked funny, like a man wearing way too many turtleneck sweaters. Pretty colors though, I will say that. My finger often slipped off the sticks as well, even with stick grips on them. After releasing, the stick would be forced dead center again like a mousetrap. My thumbs began to hurt almost immediately. I tried to give them a shot and strengthen my thumbs, but moving these sticks was a task that only Arnold Schwarzenegger could achieve. I tried putting my thumbs along the side of the stick and pushing them, but the sides of my thumbs began to get sore and red and slightly bruised. If this was the loose version, they need to make an super-ultra-mega-loose version. I didn’t even want to try the tough stiffness version. I tried to take them off my controller, but it was harder to take off than it was to put on. There is no empty space to grip them under the stick head and the base of the controller. I couldnt get a good grip on it, but once I did and pulled it, it ripped off a corner of the foam. My fingernails are super short, so it wasnt caused by them cutting it. It just ripped off because I pulled it. I tried again, and SNAP! Well, that’s that. My fingers must be as wimpy and soggy as Jack In The Box french fries, because my fingers got bent and got squished really easily using these things; Or I’m just not used to them. Or it could be the very possible fact that these are made out of the same material as the O-Rings used on the NASA space shuttle SRB rockets. You know the things that caused Challenger to explode in 1986? Really tight, and very brittle. Unless you can win a thumb wrestling match against Dwayne Johnson, I would not recommend buying these devices in any stiffness. Definitely not for children, unless you enjoy being a tear-wiper. “Mommy! Daddy! These controller rings gave me a boo-boo!” Aw, heeeeell nah!

The KontrolFreek Precision Rings are a fantastic addition to any gamer’s set-up. These rings provide some amazing features that make playing games even more enjoyable.
The first thing I noticed when using these rings is how they transformed my controller’s joysticks. The precision rings provide a far more comfortable and accurate gaming experience by boosting my aim and tactile sensitivity. I found that they really excelled in combat games, making it a lot easier to track and eliminate my enemies.
Another great feature of these rings is their simple installation process. It took just a couple of minutes to install them onto my controller, and once they were in place, there was no need for any additional adjustments.
However, I did find that the KontrolFreek Precision Rings are a bit on the fragile side. If you stretch them too roughly over the controller joysticks, they might split in half, as this happened to me once. This is something to keep in mind when installing them, but overall they are worthwhile to have notwithstanding this.
Overall, despite the fragility, I’d highly recommend the KontrolFreek Precision Rings to any gamer looking to improve their gaming experience. These rings provide greater precision, comfort, and accuracy, especially for those playing combat games. As long as you’re careful during installation, these rings are sure to provide you with a better gaming experience that you won’t regret!

It definitely does what it advertises! It does slow down your aim which is good for when aiming-down-sights or even hip-firing. But either my thumbs are too strong or they could sell these firmer (I use the firmest rings).
Turns out, I could have had the effect I wanted (steadier, and more precise, aim) by adjusting in game settings (for the game Fortnite, if you turn on the Advanced Sensitivity Settings for Controller).
So I utilize both Precision Rings and Advanced settings to attain steadier aim. I’d say the rings have a 5/10 effect.
UPDATE 6/24/24 I was wrong about these. By taking them off of my controller, I realized just how effective they were. They DEFINITELY provided steadier aim in contrast to the loose thumbstick without these rings. Definitely worth the purchase!

I received these today and was so excited to try them out. After testing them, I can say that they definitely help with limiting your capacity to overcorrect and recoil control. Great product, but would be better if they were more durable for the price. I put the green rings on both joysticks without an issue and they worked great but I wanted more resistance so I wanted to put on the purple ones. The FIRST TIME I went to put the purple ring on my controller, it ripped. Even though I was careful not to pull too hard because they seemed fragile. The problem is that they are rubber-ish foam and my joystick is also rubber so they got stuck. I can imagine these will need to be replaced quite frequently due to durability.
