Mine arrived with a broken stand so it defeated the purpose.

Case is really nice! It’s not bulky, but still adds a solid layer of protection. Well done!

  3. Miss CC

Overall, I do like this case. It feels strong and protective. It does add extra bulk to the Deck which is taking some time to get used to. But I think that’s to be expected with any case for any electronic and hasn’t detracted from my review.

What has lost some marks for me is the fit and the stand:

The fit is mostly snug around the Deck except for the top edge as seen in one of my pictures. I can slip a nail file between the case and the Deck without any force. There’s just a gap there. Additionally, putting this case on is a marathon. It doesn’t have a ton of give which means it’s extremely difficult to get around the Deck. It’s extremely difficult to pry off of the Deck which makes for a bit of a scary endeavor considering the cost of the Deck.

The stand does not sit flush on the ground but rather balances on the tip of the plastic portion. This is not a very solid bit of plastic. Something I didn’t consider when buying this stand was that the Deck is also left resting on its bottom left and right corners which is why the stand cannot sit flush. This case does have additional padding down there but it would have been nice to have something that lifted it up. This would cause additional bulk to the already bulky feel of the case+Deck so that’d be a give/take issue.

One last thing to consider: if you purchase a hardshell Deck carrying case that is form-fitting, this case/stand increases the Deck’s size and makes those carrying cases press down against the joysticks. The cases might either press and not release the joystick, wearing them out. Or it might press down sporadically causing lots of clicking on the joysticks while you’re moving. This is not taken into consideration for my review of this case/stand as it’s not a design fault of the stand but rather an incompatibility issue between different manufacturers. I would love to see a hardshell carrying case from this brand to be used with their case/stand, though!

I feel this case/stand is overall good with some issues that bring this down to a 3.5 for me.

*I did not use the screen protectors as I already have one on.

They’re worthless tho the case does the job..

    Fits great! Will recommend!

I got this for my son’s steam deck, and I’m very glad I did. He’s always been a bit accident prone, so the idea of him breaking his steam deck used to mortify me. This case is very well made, with a rubber like grip so it doesn’t slip out of his hands. It even came with screen protectors, which is a huge plus. I highly recommend this case for anyone with a steam deck, especially at this good price.

The media could not be loaded.

Every item in my house is knocked around and possibly torn up far more quickly than it should since I have little children. My steam deck needed a little extra protection, and this case does the trick just fine! Although it is relatively light, it is also strong enough to provide enough defense against drops, scratches, and bumps. It’s straightforward and uncomplicated to put on.

The back of the case has a kickstand that serves as a good support for the steam deck. It can be angled in many ways. It also comes eith tenpered glass to protect the screen. All of the buttons have cutouts in the cover, making everything completely functional. Nicely done!

  8. NZ

Snug fit, with vents in all the right spots. Comes with two tempered glass screen protectors. Stand is adjustable and feels sturdy

  9. Ashley

It ok, while it will protect your Deck, it won’t fit right in the Dock, and SD cards are annoying as hell to swap without remove the case. Kickstand is ok. Top buttons can need to be pushed a lot harder and don’t feel as nice.

  10. David Michael Von Neupert

Fit well aligns perfectly with heat sink on back if not put on upside down like I did lol. Looked pretty cool too! Not really sure how well this can protect the system. As far as screen protectors go looked pretty tough not a bad package at all!

  11. S. Alcazar

This case was very easy to install despite it being a stiffer material.
I simply slipped the top part first and it snapped on.
This gives the steam deck a better grip and a much more premium feel.
All the cuts on it are lined up precisely to the deck.

My only concern with this case is the longevity of the stand. I wasn’t sure if it was designed to only use the first 2 slots for locking but after watching the video, it clearly shows that you can use all 4. I was able to get it to latch in to the 3rd and 4th positions but it felt like it could snap and break. Other than that, it’s a great case. It was also nice that they included 2 screen protectors!

UPDATE: I had to knock it down a star for a pretty important functionality it prevents you from doing easily. That’s the removal of the SD card. Some people like myself swap out SD cards more often than others. While you can pop one in and pop it out, it’s nearly impossible to actually pull it out due to the thickness of the case.
