I’ve used FS since it was first released and have enjoyed most aspects of the sim. This version however is the worst piece of commercial software 😑 I’ve ever used and there should be a Class Action suit against the developers for selling this. I’ve bought it twice thinking perhaps I messed up the install only
to wind up with 2 copies that has problems like artifacting, etc.

First let me say that I have been an electrical engineer and software systems analyst for 40 years. I have also been a private pilot for almost as long. This piece of software is hands down the worst software I have ever used. There are so many bugs that it renders it virtually useless. The only explanation I can come up with is Microsoft must have farmed this out to a company run by a bunch of kids. Basic controls do not work correctly. Most of the time the throttle control does not work at all. The whole package seems like a mishmash of ideas and is not well integrated. Pure trash! Do not waste your money! Microsoft, you should be ashamed of yourself!!

    REVISED ONE WEEK LATER:

OK. After using this and muddling through the various controls, options, etc. I find that this is actually a pretty good if not great piece of software. After using this and flying various planes, I even decided to purchase an add-on plane that I used to own and was even able to give it my old tail number. The software provides a very convincing experience as far as flight modelling. The only problem is that it does take time to figure out how to get set up properly. The default controls are for newbies and it will drive you crazy (especially the cockpit camera manipulation). One other thing…when leaving a flight and going to the beginning screen, the system hangs and requires a system reboot (I’ll get this figured out too). System is 32GB ram, Nvidia, I7 processor. Other than this, this program is a masterpiece and gets 5 stars.

I purchased a digital download of MS Flight Simulator, but cannot download and install the software on my computer. The instructions are ambiguous, and when I follow them I wind up going round and round in the Microsoft Store. I have NEVER had such a difficult time redeeming the software I’ve paid for like this. The Microsoft Store makes it beyond difficult to get assistance. I need someone to help me get what I’ve paid for!

Now after 3 days of trying to have Microsoft help me get it installed, they’re telling me my graphics card in not compatible. So apparently I’m stuck for $60 for a program I can’t even run and wasted 3 days of my time on. I didn’t see the minimum specs. posted on the listing on Amazon, so I dont’ know how anyone would know it wouldn’t run.

It says no refunds, but that’s crazy if the program won’t run. The tech support rep. from Microsoft told me to contact Amazon, but there’s no place to give feedback or contact the seller on this listing.

    Can someone help me?

    Thanks in advance.

Wanted to leave a successful review, since I see so many bad reviews here. I’m on Windows 11 (and so the Microsoft Store and Xbox apps are already installed, but I believe they should be on Windows 10 as well). However, the instructions on the Amazon listing page work perfectly: go to redeem code in the Store app, then proceed to install your version. It does, however, take quite some time to download the assets the first time.

I’m angry I wasted money on this thing (no refunds on this download.) It will not work unless you have a fast internet connection, unlike my previous version. It costs a lot of money for something I just had to throw away. I have no idea how good it is compared to FS_X, the version i had years ago, because I can’t run it.

After I tossed lots of money down a rathole trying to make Microsoft FS work for me, I switched to the free, open-source “Flightgear” (windows, linux, and mac versions.) That’s got a different UI and I found a moderate learning curve, but after a week I like Flightgear flight sim much better than what I saw of the new MS flight sim, and better than my old MS FS-X. Don’t throw money at Microsoft, is my opinion; open-source Flightgear, free to use, is a huge improvement IMO.

Hi, the Microsoft flight simulator is a great product. I recently ordered the software from Amazon. Amazon does not download the product directly from its site; instead, it provides a code to download the software from XBOX. I think XBOX is an affiliate of Microsoft. I entered the code as directed but nothing happened. So I tried to resubmit the code. XBOX said the code had already been used and would not let me proceed. I decided to cancel thje order and get a refund so that I could order it from some other source. Amazon would not cancel the order and issue a refund. I will try to open a dispute with my credit card company.

    Do not buy this junk.
Could not download, so I contacted Microsoft, they transferred me to Xbox. After about an hour with someone at xbox, still could not download, was transferred to another person at xbox, about 3 hours later it started downloading. Download took about 8 hours.
After the download, I pressed play, and now another Mandatory Update, so until this is downloaded I can Not play the game, So i started the download, it has been downloading for about 16 hours and i am still at 1% of the download and then it drops back to 0% then up to 1% and then down to 0%. It will NOT download.
And I can NOT get a refund from amazon, I can’t download it, I can’t get a refund, so I just threw away $60.00. amazon has a terrible way of treating their customers. Like I said I just threw away $60.00.
DON’T BUY THIS because you will be throwing away your hard earned money like did. I work hard for what little money I make and now I am out $60.00.
If I could give a negative rating I would.
