I’m not sure if I would have bought it if it wasn’t on sale but it was so cute I just took the opportunity while I could. It is definitely as functional as can be and the perfect size all around to get into big and small jars. No more wasted pb&j! (PS Nickelodeon-ers, Perry the Platypus is who you’re thinking of.)

I bought a pair of Splatypuses recently, one each for my mum and me. They’re a great bit of fun, but also very functional. I’ve not had cause to use mine yet as I haven’t reached the bottom of a jar of anything, but mum’s used hers a few times and says it’s great. The “tongue” is nice and sturdy, but flexible enough to move round in a circular jar.
I got these on offer (I think it was a lightning offer on one and a “bulk-buy”/% offer when you buy two) so ended up paying in the region of £10 each for them. A bit more than I’d normally spend, when I know I can buy a thin spatula/scraper type thing for less, but they seem to be very good quality and I don’t mind paying a little extra for the fun design.

I love it! not only is it very cute. But it does what it is supposed to do. spreads nicely, does not hurt when holding it. the shape of it fits nice in your hand and is comfortable.

This thing is amazing! It gets all the way down in the peanut butter jar and leaves nothing behind. It feels like high quality ridged rubber that is sturdy enough to scrape the bottom of a jar. It’s adorable too with the platypus shape! It washes well in the dishwasher.

And coming back in plastic use and because my fridge is small I bought pint size mason jars. None of the spatulas I have fit and nothing else really gets into the edges. This is 100% perfect and it’s cute that it’s a cat but it doesn’t even have to be it is so useful that even if it was plain I would still want to have it.

I have had this spatula since 2022. I reach for this one consistently above all of my other spatulas, and also use this instead of a butter knife for spreading. I absolutely love this tool. I also want to comment on the way dishwasher detergent residue/scent does not stick to it like it would on some other spatulas. I have arthritis in one hand from a surgery, and the shape of the splatypus also helps with that. It cleans off very easily, and still looks brand new. I’m planning to get the cat shaped one for Nutella jars.

Well packaged for gifting, this spreader is the perfect gift for a cat lover. The handle is firm while the “blade” has enough flexibility to remove a product from its jar. Sadly it is a little too short to use on American jars for mayonnaise a such.
