It is reliable and durable, it matches my daughter’s decor in her room

I recently learned a trick to discern true cat6/7 ethernet cable: the configuration of the visible colored cables inside the connector.

According to someone way more knowledgeable about this stuff, the cat5e connectors are straight across. For cat6+, the connectors are offset from one another.

As you can (hopefully) see in the attached photo, this is a true cat6+ cable. Is it cat7? I don’t know.

I purchased 2x 25 ft cables, and each one came with 10x white wall cable clips. Good stuff!

Super fast cables, great quality and well packaged. They came with wall anchors too to tie up the cable which was unexpected, those touches are uncommon these days. Highly recommended purchase!

Okay, obviously this is not actually Cat8 by price alone, but visibly the shielding is clearly thinner than real Cat8. But lets be honest, the average consumer doesn’t need it to be Cat8 either. The important thing is, I can get the fullest out of my fiberoptic internet plan. My PC can reach my internet plan’s max speed of 1Gbs through this cable, and that’s all people really need.

If you are in fact buying new cables for a data center, you should already know better than to consider the cheapest options on Amazon.

Great connection. the 20ft in length is a plus- Can be moved if needed. Nice heavy duty wire. So far working great!

  6. Norseman

Decent plugs, not thin and weak, cable lies flat and carries data. what more could you want?

I am confused as to why Amazon has “WiFi signal” as a ratings for a cable designed to eliminate using WiFi so I left it blank. But I will admit the cable full of wires didn’t do anything to improve the wireless signal. 🙂

  7. Consumer

Item as described. I was able to move my router to a better spot without having to pay internet company service fees. Also placed a second one directly to video game console for no buffering issues. 💯 Satisfied. Before purchasing research ethernet CAT data definition to figure out which one you need… CAT8 faster than CAT7… Better for gaming

  8. Amazon Customer

Cord works and stretches across room to reach modem. Son has yet to ‘hide’ it along wall, so looking forward to not ‘seeing’ it.

  9. Paul C

Using with smart tv for streaming and works far better than wifi. Flat design is easy to conceal. I purchased separate stick in cable holders which I like more than nail in kind that come with.

  10. Amazon Customer

Looks discrete, flexible and neat, works great

I needed a long cable to go from one end of the house to the other and this thin cable worked out fine, only needing a 1/2 hole to pass the cable ends through walls ect. The flat style of the cable made it easier to tuck away against walls and support. Does the CAT7 cable run faster than the CAT6 it replaced? No.. no noticeable difference seen. Your internet speeds will not change or improve. I have mine connected to a Gigabit switch. However, there is a slight maybe increase on the home network, maybe. I’m no expert but I think that if you’re going from CAT5 to CAT7 you might see a difference, or if you have a proper 10Gpm home network running, you’ll want these. I bought these cables for the shape and the price was right. I bought another 100ft outdoors for the garage as well.

Nearly every item that “comes with” a cable is 5 or 5.5 patch cable. Whether the item can use it or not, isn’t the point. More often than not, you’ll benefit from a larger/better cable.

I ran a shielded & burial ready cat 8 cable outside to connect upstairs, it would be a shame to use cat 5’s inside. I wasn’t going to do that. I ordered these to match.

Yes, the router can use them to the computer.

It’s future proofing the second & subsequent cables. Right now, there won’t be any slow downs using a small cat 5 cable. Actually using this 8, has “opened” things up, as some of the 5’s & 6’s probably aren’t as well made as this cable is.

I too, didn’t think that mattered much, I now find out that it does.

The length is more for routing, & again, future planning. I’d rather have a couple extra feet & be able to reconfigure when I need to, than have to wait & buy another one. I don’t know the exact length one would need a booster, but I don’t think it’s 10′.

White, just helps it “match” the one crawling up the side of the house, & flat so it mounts under things neatly. I also wanted the shorter version of what I’m using outside because it works.

My internet plan gives me a download speed of 500 Mbps. My laptop’s built in WiFi has a download speed of around 330 Mbps. The Ethernet cable bumps it up to around 550 Mbps. The cable is very durable and lengthy. I’m able to put it underneath some carpet, above baseboards and around door frames with no drop in signal quality. The cable clips worked for the most part, but I had to use some stronger ones on certain walls. I also feel like the box didn’t come with enough cable clips for the length that I got (100ft).
