    good for gaming

I bought this laptop 20 days ago and I had alot of problems since the first day. The first problem is with the MSI Dragon Center, that application is really good, change the performance of fans and CPU/GPU to play games but it have alot of incompatiblities with windows 10 and 11. I did discover that because the system crashed continuosly and when I uninstalled it all works good. But the real problem is when I need extra cooler because windows do not activate 100% the fans, that only ocurrs with Dragon Center extreme performance mode and without it, the CPU temp is above 98°C and GPU 85°C in game. I did update all the drivers, Bios and EC Bios, nothing helps.

The other big problem is about warranty, I want to upgrade the Memory Ram and SSD m.2, but when I tried to install I see a sticker warranty in the bottom, so If you upgrade it you lose the warranty, that’s is completely unfair and abusive by the brand, they want to send your laptop only to upgrade a memory stick? I was so mad with that because I was trying to solve the drivers problems and in that instance i was not sure if it was a factory problem so I was not sure if void that sticker.

Finally I decide void the sticker because 8Gb Ram is nothing in this times and the laptop have two m.2 slots, so I add my 1tb SSD. I uninstaled the msi Dragon Center and for now, all its ok but I am a little disappointed.

I can not return it because I did a travel to USA to bought it, now I am in other country but if I could, that is the first I do!

About the performance of the i5-10500H, RTX3060 6GB and 16Gb Ram is awesome, CoD Warzone 90-100fps in middle graphics, 70-80 in Ultra High Graphics, the native resolution is 1080p

I’ll say that would like if it had more air flow or airgaps on where the fans are

I only used it for a bit so here’s my rating:

For the price this is the best I could find with these specs so I’m not really disappointed. I tried Star Wars Battlefront 2 and Elden Ring and also tested the battery and the screen. Star Wars runs fine cuz it’s an old game and Elden Ring runs fine when in dungeons but drops fps (45fps) when out in the open and that is mainly because of the i5 processor.

The screen is pretty bad ngl and the worst thing is the battery life. Considering that regular laptops can withstand at least 4-5 hours and some can even last for 15 hours this one can do 2 hours at most if I manage all the settings right. If I leave everything ready for gaming It won’t last even an hour.

I found that this laptop is made to be connected via hdmi at all times so in a way you’re buying a portable PC. I only wished that if that was the case and is considered for gaming you could at least put a displayport or a thunderbird port for better performance when connected to an external screen.

Also when playing games you can cook eggs on the keyboard but the laptop is made to withstand that kind of heat. We’ll see for how long….

So this laptop is my mobile device. I have a desktop as well. I went and bought a 16gb kit of ram to add to this laptop and I am blown away by its performance. I’m playing Elden Ring currently and besides the games technical issues this thing is pushing 60fps with ease. Very impressed MSI.

  8. Jorge Sanchez

A very powerful laptop, running everything in high graphics, but if you want to extract all the power from the graphics card you need to upgrade the RAM, lucky it has an empty slot for the upgrade and also an empty slot for another m.2 disk
    Love the product.

The laptop runs games really well, the only problems you’ll have to worry about is the battery life and fans, the laptop can get really heated sometimes and the battery life only last up to 2-3 hours at least, other than that, it’s a good, cheap option for both gaming and work
