**Update** I bumped this from 4 to 5 stars because 6 months later it’s still working fine. The battery charging got better over time, as did the battery life. I’m happy and already feel like I got my money’s worth.

I like this phone and I love the price. I really beat up my phones and didn’t want to shell out for a new CAT phone, which cost me over $600 the last time I bought one. This phone has a similar durability-minded build and has some simple additional features that I like such as the attached wrist strap option and a programmable side button that actually works (unlike the CAT phone). I appreciate that there is nothing on this phone that is going to obviously fail right away, such as the speaker cover and the backing material on my old CAT, which I could tell right away were not made to last. Actually there is one thing, the very flimsy piece of plastic that you insert your SIM card in to. Luckily you only have to do that once. Not for nothing, this Ulefone is a good looking phone to boot. Also, so far I’m liking Android 9.0 (I think my last phone was running 6.0).

I barely want to complain about a phone that cost me $99, but in case it’s helpful to others, here are the things that I have decided that I can live with given the price:
    1. 3G only
    2. Limited storage (2GB RA, 16 internal, and it won’t accept my MicroSD card that I had in my old phone)
    3. At first, horribly slow, like, “I’m returning this immediately” slow. The speed improved once everything was up and running and all updates set. Now I would say the speed is “fine” and comparable to my 2.5 year old CAT S60. Kinda sad to get a new phone that isn’t any faster than the old, but again, $99.
    4. Some forgivable glitches, like if I try to update any of the settings in Contacts, I get the message “Contacts has stopped.” Cannot figure out a way to get more than two screens of apps. Little things like that.
    5. The camera is good enough for functional photos, but you’re not going to dazzle your Instagram followers with it.
    6. Slow charging. As in, might not be fully charged by morning if I let it get quite low and left it to charge overnight.
    7. Wish the battery was a little better for such a heavy phone (it is the same weight as my old phone, but if you’re not used to a rugged phone, the weight and size of this may surprise you). It gets through the day but since it takes so long to charge, I just wish it were better.
    8. It came with the screen protector already stuck on. I wish that wasn’t the case, I dislike the screen protectors and think the touch screen would perform better without out.
    9. No useful user manual included, or found anywhere online

I haven’t tested the durability but if I still have it in a year, maybe I’ll drive over it with my car, which I saw happen in a marketing video for this phone haha. I also haven’t taken any underwater photos but find the possibility interesting. Even more interesting though less tempting is their claim that you can put it in under a meter of concrete for 24 hours. Good to know!

All in all I’m happy and it has survived 4 days of my abuse. Read the FAQ if you need a giggle.

This is the second time I’ve purchased this item and it’s the second time it stopped working out of the blue. Nothing at all lights up on the phone. This happened 1 month after starting to use the phone. The screen is black although I can hear the phone if it rings. Waste of money. I gave the phone the benefit of doubt the first time it did this, the reason I purchased a second but I’m disappointed

The product is great 🙂 but after less than half a year of owning the phone and using it for work it died on me. I wish it utilized 4G but that’s alright.

This phone’s best features have to be turned on from sub-menus in the settings. Features such as ANSWER CALL WHEN I LIFT PHONE TO MY EAR, SCREEN MAGNIFIER etc are accessible. Other features include GLOVE MODE and UNDERWATER CAMERA MODE.

My only gripe so far is the 16 Gb ROM onboard, tho this can be addressed with a memory card.

I’ve gone through about five of these cheap ruggedized Android phones over the last few years (I destroy phones, usually within a few months, I’m not even sure how at this point). This one is the least expensive and also my favorite so far.

Loved this phone but it just randomly stopped turning on after 6 weeks 🙁

Let the battery drain all the way and now it works again 🙂

Bought this phone for my son who normally destroy everything but this phone seem to be sticking up.

Bought to use as a stand alone gps . Hardened for motorcycle use which is my goal. 3g so no good as a phone.
