Works excellent with StraightTalk… no setup required for service (just basic phone setup), I just plugged in my SIM and it worked. Didn’t have to mess with access point settings. Great features, camera, interface, everything… battery doesn’t last as long as I’d hoped but still better than old phone.

I just received this phone so I will give an update in time. So far its not bad. I had a A51 before but dropped it in water (for like second!) and the screen went black. So I got another one because I really like the camera feature. The only thing I have noticed so far is that the battery does not last long like my first one. My first A51 which was brand new, could go 24hrs and a little bit longer, no problem. This one starts to drain at the end of the day. So other than that, it’s still a good one, so far- for it being refurbished. Just don’t drop it in water!! Oh, and I use Straight Talk but planning on switching to Pure Talk in the future. It works fine with Straight Talk.

Phone seems snappy and had a nice screen. But that’s about it. It’s a Samsung so comes bundled with Bixby which no one wants, plus other bloatware that can’t be removed. You can at least disable the Bixby button (revert it back to a power button as it should be). But that’s all on a nuisance level. What ticked me off is how Samsung creates so many variants of the EXACT SAME PHONE for multiple carriers. While this was supposed to be an unlocked GSM phone it would only work with a T-Mobile SIM. My AT&T SIM refused to connect. And to make matters even more confusing, when I looked up the IMEI it came back as being on the XFINITY network (Verizon, not GSM). And because of the carrier lock it was limited to Android 11 while version 12 has been available on this model for quite some time.
If you must get this phone then get the SM-A515F (International version). Same specs but dual SIM capable and none of this locked carrier nonsense. Sticking with my NOKIA for now. Has it’s own quirks but at least it’s not a paperweight out of the box.

Even though it came in a new box and covered the phone sowed signs of previous wear and use. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to send it back. Since my son needed it for his mission for our church. It seemed to work ok and we will be sending him a case.

Works perfectly hubby loves it enough storage for his 1 million games and all features worked perfectly from the second it arrived and it was shipped quickly would definitely buy again if we need another replacement any time soon
